ReplyDeletecant figure out how to open the door put all the chalk in the door now left with smoking pipe, matches, and candle
ReplyDeletelight the pipe with the matches and get a black wad of paper.
ReplyDeleteLook at the paper and open it up. I don't know where it goes
though. I found all the sticks and put them in the door, but
the door won't open yet. Must still be something to do.
I can't figure out what to do with the scroll...the paper doesn't
go on it. And don't understand the paper on the table. I can't
look under the 'queer ornament'
got the black paper on the scroll but can't do anything else with it
ReplyDelete@Mz.BabiFace ,
ReplyDeleteIn the pipe is a black piece of paper, take it out in your inventory and place it above the white box on the scroll you put on the wall
examen candle in your inventory, use matches on it and place buring candle under with box on table, to get the code for the door (you only need 6 white sticks)
@ektaylor78, put candle under ornament and see the code on the black paper above ;)
ReplyDeleteI figured it out and am out!
ReplyDeleteyes did it!! :)) With some luck the code came...I was turning around in the room several times..lol
ReplyDeleteshort but very nice!
ReplyDeleteI think this game might be a bit buggy, I never had to light the candle or the pipe, I just had to hang the scroll and the black paper, then the door opened without using a code.
ReplyDeleteQuiant Room Walkthrough:
ReplyDeleteYou start out looking at a short table.
1. Look at the paper. You can't add it to inventory. Note the image.
2. Pick up the match book.
3. Pick up the smoking pipe.
4. Click the pipe in inventory and push "about" button (bottom right square with Japanese writing). Then, click match book and lite pipe. You will get a black burned looking thing.
5. Click black burned looking thing in inventory, push "about" button, and click on black burned looking thing again. It will stretch out into a black H looking shape.
6. Get white block from garbage pail (there are 9 blocks).
7. Look under pillow to get block 2 of 9.
8. Look under table for block 3 of 9.
9. Go left. Look at door. It is locked. There is block 4 of 9 in the combination lock puzzle.
10. Go left. Lift the picture frame and take the candle.
11. Go left. Block 5 of 9 is on the left shelf near the standing plate.
12. Block 6 of 9 is in the metal bowl.
13. Open the left door to get block 7 of 9.
14. Open the right door to get the scroll.
15. Go left. Block 8 of 9 is in the back left corner.
16. Block 9 of 9 is under the paper lantern.
17. Hang the scroll on the wall. Put the black H shaped thing on the scroll.
18. Click the candle in inventory, push "about" button, click match book and lite the candle.
19. Lift the paper lantern and place the candle below it. Put the lantern back down. This was described on the piece of paper on the table.
20. Have you been noticing the lights cutting in and out? Watch the scroll. You'll see a pattern. It's different each time you play.
21. Go left, twice. Zoom in on the combination lock puzzle. Remove the block, if necessary. Put as many blocks as needed in the combination holes to match the pattern. All 9 blocks will not be needed. You should hear the door unlock.
22. Zoom out and click on the door handle.
Congratulations, you're free!
This game was OK - with two major blemishes.
ReplyDeleteFirst, the pop-up "comments". they were beyond annoying IMHO. They rendered every other click effectively useless - and there's no way the developer thought anybody would read them after as minute or two into the game.
Second, the hot spot for removing the screen in front of the candle. It took me about a dozen clicks to find the right spot. That was the péoint where i got helplessly stuck - because I clicked on the screen apparently everywhere, so when it didn't move, I thought I'd need something to use there. Even when reading the walkthrough and knew I simply have to click on it, it took me alot of clicks to find the right spot.
Shame, because otherwise it was a fine game. short and easy, but OK.
